Why should we put Tilak?

Good thoughts are born less on our intellect and evil thoughts many, so our intellect is like a poisonous Kaliynag. Only Lord Krishna could suppress Kaliya and drove out from the river Yamuna. In the same way only he can control our intellect by putting his lotus like foot on our forehead. Then our intellect will have good and divine thoughts. So Vaishnavs put on Tilak of God's foot shape on their forehead. We should not be ashamed of putting it.

Why should we take Charanamrit?

Charanamrit consists of sand of Vraj. The bath water of Shri Nathji is added to that sand. The sand of Vraj is divine. The bathwater is also divine. By taking Charanamrit our body, mind and soul become pure and pious. We are eligible for seva.

There is soul in every being. When the soul leaves the body, the being dies. What is 'jeev' - soul? How was it born?

'Jeev' means animate, consciousness in its real form. Paramatma decided years ago, to create this universe for his happiness and sport. At that time Paramatma was alone. You need a partner to play with. You also need a playground. So Paramatma, for his own sport created the world (universe) as a playground from Himself. As his playmates, He created innumerable 'jeevs' - being for Himself. So 'jeev' is the smallest form of creation of Paramatma.

How was a 'jeev' created from Paramatma?

Just the way sparks fly out from a fire, similarly numerous beings spring forth from Paramatma. 'Sat', 'Chit', 'Anand' are the three divine elements in Paramatma, which is why He is called 'Sachidanad'. All the essential elements in the universe, have originated from Paramatma's 'Sat' element. 'Jeev' is a creation of Paramatma's 'Sat' and 'Chit' elements. 'Jeev' is a creation of the combination of 'sat' and 'chit' elements. In the inanimate creation there is no trace of Paramatma's 'anand' element, where as the same 'anand' element is hidden in animate being. But Paramatma manifests his 'anand'.
