Important of navratri in Vallabh Sampradya(Pusti marg)

Worship of any other Diety other than Shri Giriraj Govardhan Krishna in Pushti Margh is strictly prohibited, because the steadfastness of one's mind and devotion, can only then be achieved. We perform seva of SHRI NATHJI. In order to celebrate Nav-ratri the pushti vaishnavas offer new Vastra's (Dress) to the swaroopa with different colour chapa (thin cloth with silver prints) new sam-ma-gris (dishes-different type of food prepared from milk, and other food offerings as Bhogh)

Shri Hari-rai Maha-prabhu-ji quotes "SHRI SAWAMINIJI has shakti symbol [Energy Symbol] in HER LOTUS LIKE FEET. They are basically 12 sakhi's [Friends] in the form of 12 shakti's. They are as follows:-

  1. AACHA-DIKA.
  2. VIK-SHAE-PIKA.
  3. YOGH-MAYA.
  4. KAT-TIYA-YAI-NI.
  5. VRAN-DA-DEVI.
  6. CHANDRA-VALI.
  7. SAN-KETA-DEVI.
  8. LALITA-DEVI.
  9. VIMLA-DEVI.
  10. NAU-WA-RI.
  11. CHAU-BA-RI.
  12. ANAND-DI.

He has compose 9 versesfor Nav-ratri. 1 for each day. These verses are known as "Nav-vilas".

  1. 1st day of Nav-ratri, the main sakhi is CHANDRA-VALI-JI.on this day Jav (barley) is sown in 10 different pots.
  2. 2nd day of Nav-ratri, the main sakhi is LALITA-JI.
  3. 3rd day of Nav-ratri, the main sakhi is VISHA-KHA-JI.
  4. 4th day of Nav-ratri, the main sakhi is CHANDRA-BHAGA-JI.
  5. 5th day of Nav-ratri, the main sakhi is SANJA-VALI-JI.
  6. 6th day of Nav-ratri, the main sakhi is MUKHRAI-JI.
  7. 7th day of Nav-ratri, the main sakhi is KRISHNA-VATHI-JI.
  8. 8th day of Nav-ratri, the main sakhi is BHAVNI-JI.
  9. 9th day of Nav-ratri, the main sakhi is LADILI-JI,
  10. 10th day or Dash-hera is on tenth day , the jav which are grown are then worn on the Head of SHRI THAKUR-JI as "Khal-n-ghi."
