| What is Ankut? |
| Ankut is the festival where in we offer Rice, Moong , but Curry which is essence of Bhatia community is also offered normally Dhai Curry is must. All type of milk prepareation but be sure milk is not soured to make Bengali sweets.( those in love does not like to seperate, but to join, Thakurji loves milk and He does not like people who are indulge in seperation.)and as much you can offer. In short Rice, Moong and Milk is important, rest is upto you to offer. Before offering these preparations we have to perform a Puja. This Puja is called GOVERDHAN PUJA.( this reminds us that this ankut was performed by SHRI KRISHNA when He was child.) |
| Why we pustimargiya celebrate this? |
| Shri Narayan Butt who was ancestor of Shri Vallab (Shri Mahaprabhuji) used to perform SOM-YAGIYA. One day while performing the same SHRI MADHAN MOHANJI appeared and said "I will be born in your family when 100th SOM YAGIYA is over" and SHRI MAHAPRABHUJI was the result. It proves that SHRI VALLAB is THAKURJI He also contiuned the same Yagiya. His son SHRI VITHALNATHJI( SHRI GUSAIJI) had a second thought, SHRI MAHAPRABHUJI gave away His beloved Thakurji to each and every BRAMASABANDITHIT VAISHNAVOS. Therefore I ( SHRI GUASAIJI) should see that every BRAMA-SABANDITHIT VAISHNAV should perform this yagiya, He transform SOMYAGIYA to ANKUT MAHAYAGIYA. (we vaishnavos are lucky enough to perform this yagiya because of SHRI GUSAIJI'S KRIPA on us.) This celebration plays very important role in PUSTIMARG. It preparations starts from DESHARA. |

| On the day of Deshara the meeting is called between the staff of Haveli & Maharajshri (Vallab kul Balak) . They decide when Ankut Mahayagiya is to be performed, who will take the responsibilityof arranging the Samagri, and preparing it. |
| AIn our house we decide when the Ankut Mahayagiya is to be performed, It is not necessary that Ankut Mahayagiya is to be performed on the day Ankut Mahoutshav but can be performed on any day between ankut mahoutshav & basant panchami i.e.magh suklapach 5th. (corres. to english calender from 26 oct. to 25 of jan.)basant panchami is on 26 jan. |
