Roopchaturdasi

14th day of Kartik krishna pash is known as Roopchaturdasi it is also known as Narak Chathurdasi.

It goes like that, on the day of Deshera we perform a puja by keeping ten gober (cowdung) in the shape of roti and place some jawharas on each and sprinkle tilak on it. These are known as povas, they are dried in the sunlight and kept for this day (roopchaturdashi). Before sunrise, the water for bathing Shri Thakurji is made warm on these povas. While bathing a pot of dhatun is placed in front, this will enhance the beauty.

By performing this one has not to see narak (hell), that is why this day is known as narakchaturdashi.

In order to avoid narak (hell) this type of bathing is stated in shastras.

Thakurji seva: after bathing as stated above, a golden jari ghardhar vaga southan is worn on black thade vastra. on the head a plain chandrica (peacock feather) along with loomtura and paga is worn.four earings, ornaments made of emelerd, pearls and diamond are worn with two pair of earings.
