Mrs. Joshi and her two sons
JAGANNATH AND NARAHARI JOSHI

While sleeping Shri Thakurji told Jagannath, "Your barley has upsent My stomach." Jagannath then awoke and concerned over his Thakurji’s suffering offered Him salt, ginger and another herb. Thakurji pleased with his pure devotion took that natural medicine and said, "Now My stomach has become settled," From that day, Jagannath only halted at those towns where a selection of supplies were available.

Because Jagannath was a straight-forward Krishna devotee, he did not question as a pandit would, "How can Thakurji have an upset stomach." For this reason, Thakurji was pleased with his natural devotion. Wherever there is such sincere devotion, even if one has committed an error, Thakurji still showers His grace.

Once during the afternoon utthapan services, two Rajputs and ten Vaishnavas came to have darshan. On that occasion, one elderly lady threw a flower garland around Thakurji. (This is prohi¬bited in the worship.) Jagannath, angrily picked that garland up and threw it outside of the temple. That garland happened to fall over the head of one of the Rajputs. The other Rajput, believing himself to be very great, thought that the garland should have been presented to him. Filled with jealousy, he decided to kill Jagannath Joshi but for several days could not find the appropriate opportunity.

Some days later when Jagannath was returning from brushing his teeth, that Rajput came up from behind and raised his sword with the intention of killing Jagannath. At that moment, Shri Krishna grabbed hold of the Rajput's hand and told him, 'Don't kill him !" Although the Rajput tried to slay Jagannath he was not able to move his hand downward. When Jagannath turned and saw his exhausted Thakurji holding the Rajput's hand he exclaimed, 'Sinner, what have you done !' The Rajput, realizing that he was an enlight¬ened soul, dropped his sword and fell at his feet praying, "You are a great devotee. Please uplift me, a lost sinner". Jagannath having mercy on him took him home and there gave him Shri Krishna mantra. Later when Shri Gosainji arrived there He officially initiated that Rajput into the Path of Grace.

Because Jagannath Joshi angrily threw the garland outside of the temple he had to suffer the above-mentioned incident in which the Rajput achieved liberation. Devotees like Jagannath are so exhalted that even if someone has the sentiment of hate towards them they will even eventually achieve liberation through the grace of the Supreme.

Mrs. Josi and her two sons all lived within Krishna's conscious¬ness, and reaped the inner teachings of Shri Mahaprabhuji, Shri Krishna's personal association.
