In olden times the listener of Shrimadh Bhagwatji were Sonkadik and 84000 Rushi, and was sung by Soothji (Ughrashva) at Namisharniya. And than listener was Mahrushi Vedviyasji sung by Devrushi Naradji at Vedviyas Ahashram on banks of Sarswati river. And now listener was Raja Parishith, sung by Bhagwan Shri Sukhdevji at the banks of river Ganga.
Shrimadh Bhagwatji contains most valuable information of Purnaprusotam Bhagwan Shri Krishna’s Lilas and His main 24 Avtaar which is also known as His Lilas Atvaar. It also reveals a true knowledge of the creation of this and other universes.
According to the Kaal (time) He decide the cause, and place of His Avtaar, He also decides what form to take. Accordingly He establish Dharma and destroys asuras (devilish people) and establish the true meaning of living life, through His Bhakti.
Shri Brahmaji tell to Shri Naradji “Purnaprusotam Bhagwan’s Lilas Avtar are so beautiful and so many which I am going to tell you in order but remember all this is His (Bhagwan) Lilas. In short the whole universe is and its contents are His Avtaar, but in order to perform Lilas He has to take various forms i.e. Avtaars.
There is no difference between Bhagwans’ Swaroop and Dharma therefore from Bhagwan’s Dharma, different parts of body and ornaments, all these Avtaars has taken place but Bhagwan Shri Krishna’s Avtaar is not Avtaar because He is the Moolavtaari (originator).
