Shri Krishna buying fruits

Shri Krishna buying fruits

One day a fruit-selling lady passed hawking before Nand Baba's house. Krishna heard her voice and went to her with a handful of rice for buying fruits. A child as he was all the rice got scattered on the ground through his fingers. The fruit-seller was fascinated by Krishna's innocence and gave him a lot of fruits. She went away without taking anything in exchange for the fruit. When the fruit-seller reached home, she was highly astonished to see her basket filled with valuable jewels.

Almost every day, some such miracle occurred in Gokul and, as a result, the people of the village felt amazed as well as frightened. They apprehended some calamity as a climax of these miracles. But when someone asked Krishna about them, he simply laughed the matter away. The falling of the trees in the absence of any storm pushed the entire village of Gokul into the jaws of untold fear. They believed this happening to be the handiwork of demons. So they held a meeting and decided to leave Gokul
and settle at Vrindavan.
